A Trip to the Moon

We are trying to find a more attractive way to present the process of a trip to the moon, then it turns out a bridge connected between the earth and the moon. There is a thing falling down to the earth and explode. Then people find the rocket and decide to ride it through the bridge. They go through the clouds and finally arrived at the moon. Suddenly there is a strange plant appear from the hole of the moon, and growing up fast, then comes to an alien. Earthman and alien starts to fight up and gradually move to the bridge between the earth and the moon. The bridge is cut off. They are both floating. In the end, there is someone’s hands are manipulating the whole universe.

I enjoyed working with my peers. We decided what to do by each person quite quickly. I was intended to make the first few scenes. I cut the shape of hemisphere and houses and trees above it. I often asked my member to see which one would be better. I tried to use white lines on black paper behind the cut out paper to make the picture more abundant.

While we were shooting in Wednesday. I felt most fun to make the rocket rise-up. We made it in different layers. The clouds are put in different layers, and rocket was changed by standing on blocks.

I learned a lot in these two weeks. I learned how to use dragonframe to make stop motion animation through working it with my peers. I also see their ability of action which are quick and brilliant.

We chose the movie “Rear Window” and use black and white paper to build the main storyline in this movie, it’s roughly a man peeking through the window of others and the camera stops at a man arguing with a woman, and end up with the woman killed by the man. I am quite happy with the outcome in an hour, and I have also learned a lot from members.

We shredded lots of small pieces of paper to keep changing the three shapes of squares, circles and triangles. This is a great way to start with stop motion animation and to familiarise yourself with the software.
